Only 502 examples of the Evolution 1 were built by Mercedes in 1989. All were left-hand drive. Although Mercedes’ Cosworth-tuned 190 had initially been conceived for rallying, the model ultimately became best known for its exploits in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM).
These cars both arrived to us at the end of last year after a client came in to us, looking to obtain a 190E. Having been given the task to acquire the Evo 1s, careful consideration was given before deciding on these two great examples sourced from France and Belgium respectively. We subsequently co-ordinated delivery from Europe over us in Australia.
Upon arrival at our workshop in Sydney both cars were inspected and serviced to ensure they were road worthy before then completing registration so that both could be enjoyed on Australian roads.
